What is Krisp?
Krisp is a desktop noise canceling application. It muffles your online calls, allowing you to communicate more effectively.
It removes the noise coming to you from other call participants, and the noise going from you to them.
Krisp works smoothly in real-time, so your calls are uninterrupted and completely noiseless
Krisp used to remove all background noise but maintain the human voice without separating the speakers at first. Now on Windows, it's also possible to have Voice Cancellation - the voices that are categorically different from the main speaker's voice will be cancelled along with the noise. In the future, we hope to make the feature available on Mac as well. Stay up to date by subscribing to our
How does Krisp work technically?
Krisp is not intended for post-productio your voice to start removing the significantly different voices of other people from your audio stream
Krisp creates an additional layer between the physical microphone/speaker and the communicating app you are using. To remove the noise coming from other participants to you, the audio is received from the communication app, processed on your device to remove noise by Krisp Speaker, and then transmitted to your physical speakers
To remove the noise going from you to other participants, the audio is received from your physical microphone, processed on your device to remove noise by Krisp Microphone, and then transmitted to the communication app.
For the voice cancellation, Krisp analyses your voice to start removing the significantly different voices of other people from your audio stream
What is behind Krisp Technology?
Krisp is a Deep Neural Networks-based program. We gathered and listened to 20K diverse noises and 10K clean voices from people of all ages, genders, and ethnicities. All the audio together compile up to 2.5K hours. The datasets were fed to the neural network which was later trained to remove background noise and leave only clean voice
